Q: Software Director Indicates "The list of publishers is empty". Can this be resolved?

DISCUSSION

A: Software Director is the shared component used to check for updates in applications by Cloanto and its affiliated entities, which are referred to as "publishers".

Normally, Software Director and the required publisher details are installed together with the primary application. Software Director also comes in a standalone installer, which can be used to manually update or repair an installation. The standalone installer does not contain any publisher details, and as such may display "The list of publishers is empty." if no publisher details can be found elsewhere. The publisher registration files are only a few hundred bytes in size, and can be downloaded below.

To report and help resolve a malfunction via Software Director, please select Help/Write Log File, and Help/Send Feedback. You will then be able to include the log file in the follow-up.

To manually register or view details about a publisher, download the corresponding .sd-cnf file, then double-click, drag-and-drop, or use File/Open... to open the file in Software Director:

• currency-system.sd-cnf (for Currency Server and calculator clients)
• retroplatform.sd-cnf (for Amiga Forever, Amiga Explorer, C64 Forever and other RetroPlatform applications)
• cloanto-corporation.sd-cnf (for MenuBox and other Cloanto applications)
• cloanto-it-srl.sd-cnf (for Accenti and other applications for the Italian market)
