During installation of software that uses
Windows Installer (MSI) technology, a
message
"This installation package could not be
opened. Contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer package." usually indicates an
incomplete or corrupt installation file.
If the software was downloaded, it should
be re-downloaded. The best method to verify
that the downloaded file is complete, is to
check its digital signature.
Adblockers and low-quality antivirus
programs are a main cause of blocked and
damaged downloads. If the issue persists
after a re-download, consider disabling any
antimalware tools other than the most
reputable ones (e.g. Windows Defender,
Kaspersky, etc.)
